  • Godly Play

    Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
    Room 203

Children have an innate sense of the presence of God. The Godly Play approach helps them to explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and to enhance their spiritual experience through wonder and play. Based on Montessori principles and developed using a spiral curriculum, the Godly Play method serves children through early, middle and late childhood and beyond.

  • Adult Bible Class

    Room 101

The foundation of the class is the study of Sunday school lessons/scripture passages found in the International Sunday School Lessons quarterlies. The class is conducted by a team of five teachers who are experienced and well-grounded in the biblical truths of the Bible. Class discussions of lesson materials are strongly encouraged, with members often participating as a whole.

    Contact: Marie Morrison, 704-455-2487/

The Discovery Class is open to all adults. The class is made up of couples, singles, and spouses of people who are teaching other classes. Class participation is welcome, but no one is ever pressured to participate in discussion. The members of the Discovery Class like to explore various topics. We are not tied to a curriculum that dictates a schedule. We choose books and materials that interest us, and we work through each study at our own pace.

  • Faith Builders

    parents of children & teens

    Room 215

This class selects the topics of study that focus on parenting issues.  This class is planned to allow folks to jump in and out as their teaching schedules and family obligations dictate, so each class is a new lesson. If you are a parent and have not yet tried out this class, please come!

  • Faith in Action

    Room 214

    Contacts: Carol & Jim Lyerly,

This class has a membership of men and women who study the Bible using the Uniform curriculum study published by the Presbyterian Church. This class is taught by a variety of lay persons who alternate teaching Sundays and is attended by adults of all ages. Each Sunday, the class matches the Sunday School offering with an additional offering and prayers that help provide the funding for needy projects.

  • Seekers

    Room 216

The Seekers class is an exciting, interactive opportunity for adults to explore God’s word. Biblical passages with key messages are skillfully outlined by a class leader, who frequently provides helpful historical context for the passages. Participants in the class are then encouraged to share the application of those messages to particular situations and previous experiences. This welcoming group is comprised of adults from all walks of life; in fact, they have been self-characterized as “God’s Island of Misfit Toys.”
