presbyterian women morning circle

Women’s Bible Study/Fellowship Group

The Rocky River Presbyterian Women Morning Circle meets at 10:00 am in the Parlor the first Tuesday of the month ten months of the year for a Bible study and sharing of joys and concerns. The first Tuesday in August and December they go out to dine and have fellowship at a local restaurant.

The circle participates in several outreach programs, contributes to the Presbyterian Women budget and the Fellowship of the Least Coin whereby women from around the world give their least coin each month to be used for different missions.

The circle has chosen to use the Horizons Bible Study Come to the Waters beginning in September 2015. The review states that Just as water nourishes our bodies, so the scriptures on water nourish our souls. Together, we will explore some of the Bible’s 800 references to water.

For more information, please contact Linda Clark, Moderator for the Morning Circle at (704) 596-0062. All are welcomed to attend the meetings and/or luncheons.

fidget quilts

We’re forming a group to make fidget quilts for people in the community who have Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia. Many people with Alzheimer’s or dementia want to keep their hands busy. They need something to fidget with. Barbara Murray learned about small quilts (any dimensions – just small enough to easily fit in a person’s lap) and introduced the idea to some of the women in the church. This will give us another opportunity to get better acquainted with one an-other while doing a worthwhile service project.

There are no rules for fidget quilts. They just have to be small and the items attached for hands to fidget with must be very securely attached. Anyone (of any age) who likes to sew is welcome. If you are interested in finding out more about this project, come to our meeting on June 8th. The actual making of the fidget quilts will be on an individual basis as you have time to sew, but we might get together occasionally to share fabric, batting, and “fidget items.”

Clean out your notions drawer and help us with this project!
