presbyterian women evening circle

Women’s Bible Study/Fellowship Group

The Rocky River Presbyterian Women Evening Circle meets at 7:00 pm the first Tuesday of the month in alternating member’s home. Presbyterian Women is a Church-wide organization whose membership is open to all women. The Presbyterian Women of Rocky River strives to minister to the congregation as a whole and to women in particular. Through our purpose and mission, we commit ourselves to nurturing women in their faith through Bible Study, Prayer and Christian fellowship. We support missions at home and worldwide working for justice and peace while building an inclusive caring community of women.

The Evening Circle will be studying a new book in September—Having a Mary Spirit by Joanna Weaver.  We studied  Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World a few years ago, and really enjoyed the content.  We have been following the Horizon Bible Study, but decided to use Joanna's second book for the upcoming 2017-2018 circle year.  Anyone wishing to join us, please contact Priscilla Giuliano or Niki Schneider.

the ramblers

Social Group

The Ramblers are a group of persons, irrespective of age, who meet to celebrate fun, fellowship and service to others. This organization is open to and welcomes all members of the community. Once a year a core group of members meet to form a schedule of activities from suggested ideas.

The Ramblers were formed to balance fellowship and service to the members of the Rocky River Community. The Rambler group has attended plays, concerts and special places of interest around the county and state. The Ramblers have also hosted meals for the Salvation Army and those who exceed Seventy five years of age in the Congregation of Rocky River Presbyterian Church. The Ramblers extend an invitation to all who come to join in the fun and fellowship at Rocky River.

fidget quilts

We’re forming a group to make fidget quilts for people in the community who have Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia. Many people with Alzheimer’s or dementia want to keep their hands busy. They need something to fidget with. Barbara Murray learned about small quilts (any dimensions – just small enough to easily fit in a person’s lap) and introduced the idea to some of the women in the church. This will give us another opportunity to get better acquainted with one an-other while doing a worthwhile service project.

There are no rules for fidget quilts. They just have to be small and the items attached for hands to fidget with must be very securely attached. Anyone (of any age) who likes to sew is welcome. If you are interested in finding out more about this project, come to our meeting on June 8th. The actual making of the fidget quilts will be on an individual basis as you have time to sew, but we might get together occasionally to share fabric, batting, and “fidget items.”

Clean out your notions drawer and help us with this project!
